Monthly New Volunteer Orientation

Orientation is your first stop here at the ranch!

After orientation, you are able to choose your own adventure and work with our:

• Cat House - training info shared after orientation
• Farm Friends - training info shared after orientation
• Equine Partners - see below for training information

After attending Orientation*, if you are interested in supporting with our equine program, we ask that all new volunteers attend Part 1 and Part 2 trainings prior to officially starting as a volunteer with us at the ranch. Part 3 is optional, but highly encouraged. Each training last approximately 2-3 hours and will be hands on experience with our horses.  HORSEMANSHIP TRAININGS:  Part 1: BEGINNING HORSEMANSHIP - Haltering, Grooming, & Tacking (2 hours) This training is required for all new volunteers. Please attend orientation prior to any trainings.  Part 2: THERAPEUTIC LESSON TRAINING - Grooming/Tacking for a lesson, Leading a horse in a lesson, Sidewalking in a lesson (2.5 hours) Part 1 is a prerequisite for this training and must be completed prior to this training. This training is required for all new volunteers. Please attend orientation prior to any trainings. Part 3: HORSE CARE TRAINING -for those interested in supporting with horse care (2 hours) Part 1 is a prerequisite for this training and must be completed prior to this training. This training is optional, but highly encouraged.
