Purpose, Scope & Non-Negotiable Conditions of Entry
Shadow Hills Riding Club Inc. (“SHRC”) provides therapeutic, adaptive, educational, and recreational equine-based and nature-based experiences conducted exclusively within an active, working ranch environment. SHRC programming occurs in close proximity to live animals, agricultural operations, vehicles, tools, heavy equipment, ranch infrastructure, uneven terrain, dust/allergens, wildlife, weather, and other inherent ranch and equine risks.
.
Inherent Risk & Assumption of Risk (Important Legal Notice)
Participation at SHRC involves inherent risks that cannot be eliminated, including but not limited to:
-
falls,
-
bites, kicks, strikes, or being stepped on,
-
sudden horse movement or spooking,
-
equipment or tack-related incidents,
-
uneven terrain, weather, dust, wildlife, and environmental conditions,
-
unpredictable actions of animals or people.
By entering SHRC property or participating in any SHRC program or activity, individuals voluntarily and knowingly assume all inherent risks associated with equine and ranch environments, whether or not such risks result in injury, illness, property damage, or loss.
No activity at SHRC is risk-free.
Private Property & Conditional Entry
SHRC property is private property. Entry and continued presence are conditional privileges, not rights.
SHRC may deny entry, restrict access, require immediate departure, or permanently exclude any individual at its sole discretion for:
-
safety or horse-welfare reasons,
-
supervision failures,
-
policy non-compliance,
-
operational or capacity limitations.
Participation is not guaranteed.
Dual Waiver Requirement
Because SHRC programs operate on shared property, all individuals entering the premises are required to execute waivers for both Shadow Hills Riding Club Inc. and Silver Inspiration Ranch, regardless of which activity they are attending.
Each waiver applies independently to the activities, risks, and operations of the issuing entity.
Execution of both waivers does not merge operations, supervision, responsibility, or liability between entities.
No Paperwork = No Entry
All participants, guardians, aides, volunteers, and visitors must have current, complete SHRC documentation on fileand receive written approval before arriving.
Required documentation includes:
-
SHRC Release of Liability & Assumption of Risk Waiver,
-
medical and behavioral disclosure,
-
emergency contact information,
-
policy acknowledgment.
No exceptions. Verbal approvals do not count.
Not Childcare / No Custodial Care
SHRC is not a daycare, childcare provider, custodial facility, or clinical treatment program.
Participants are not placed into SHRC’s care, custody, or control at any time.
Supervision Is the Responsibility of the Family or Agency
Any participant (minor or adult) who requires supervision, redirection, or support must be accompanied at all times by:
-
a legal parent or court-appointed guardian, or
-
a SHRC-approved adult caregiver or support professional.
“At all times” includes arrival, departure, waiting periods, restroom use, and transitions.
Participants may never be left with SHRC staff, volunteers, or other families.
SHRC does not provide substitute aides or one-to-one supervision.
No Drop-Off Unless Explicitly Approved
Drop-off is not automatically permitted.
Unless SHRC provides explicit written approval, guardians must remain on site for the duration of the session.
Unauthorized drop-off, early arrival, or late pickup may result in:
-
immediate removal,
-
administrative fees,
-
suspension or termination of participation.
Staff Authority Is Final
All SHRC staff instructions and safety decisions are final and must be followed immediately.
SHRC may modify, shorten, reschedule, or cancel activities at any time due to:
-
horse behavior or welfare,
-
safety conditions,
-
weather or air quality,
-
staffing or operational limitations,
-
behavioral or supervision concerns.
Removal may occur without warning and without refund.
Zero-Tolerance Safety Rules
For the protection of people and animals:
-
closed-toe shoes are required,
-
no running, shouting, or sudden movements near horses,
-
no feeding, petting, or handling animals without permission,
-
no entry into restricted areas,
-
no smoking, vaping, alcohol, cannabis, intoxicants, or weapons,
-
no unauthorized photography, recording, or livestreaming.
Violations may result in immediate removal and permanent exclusion.
Late Pickup Fees Apply
SHRC does not provide supervision beyond scheduled program times.
Late pickups increase safety and liability exposure and may result in:
-
administrative fees,
-
per-minute charges,
-
documentation and escalation,
-
suspension or termination of participation.
Fees are cost-recovery measures, not penalties.
No Refunds for Policy Violations or Removal
Program fees reserve limited staff time, horses, and facility capacity and are non-refundable.
No refunds or credits are issued for:
-
policy violations,
-
missing or invalid paperwork,
-
failure to provide required supervision,
-
removal for safety or program-fit reasons,
-
no-shows or late arrivals.
Participation and scheduling are not guaranteed by third-party funding or Fiscal Management Services (FMS) approval. All participation remains subject to SHRC assessment, approval, and ongoing compliance.
Right to Refuse Service
SHRC reserves the right to refuse or discontinue participation due to:
-
safety or horse-welfare concerns,
-
non-compliance,
-
documentation deficiencies,
-
lack of program fit,
-
operational capacity.
All decisions are made consistent with applicable nondiscrimination laws.
